LIVING… LEARNING… MUMBAI
Undergraduate Work
Design living space combined with permanent exhibition and classroom space for open public use within context of Mumbai. The project became a creation of synthesized clusters of units through layers of privacy. Each layer becomes the threshold from unit to unit from most public to most private. { PUBLIC ; COMMUNAL ; FAMILY & ; SINGLE } Concepts of time with both human and natural interactions are investigated though materiality. Offset slats of unfinished soft wood create both a visual and physical texture that will morph through time as interaction increases. As hard edges become rounded through this interaction a self-generating map of contact will be created within the project leaving the traces of its human and natural inhabitants. The structure is then draped in corten cladding adding further texture to the idea of reflection of time during monsoon seasons. |
